CEO of Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology Urged State Government to Add Lucknow to the UNESCO World Heritage List

The first Koshala Literature Festival-2022 (KLF), which lasted three days and featured many sessions with authors and poets from throughout the country, came to a close on Monday in this location.

For a session dubbed "Romance of Lucknow," heritage advocates from the city came to discuss how to make the city of Nawabs an even better destination for those who enjoy art, culture, and literature. The CEO of the Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology, Jayant Krishna, urged the state government to begin the process of adding Lucknow's old city to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

"It will assist the city's cultural equity to get improved, and this way we can ask the World Heritage Fund for money to help preserve the historic culture of the city," he added.

Carlyle McFarland, head of La Martiniere College in Lucknow, declared, "An annual Claude Martin Festival would be held at Constantia House, La Martiniere, Lucknow to display the institute's architecture and intangible European and Anglo-Indian legacy, together with cultural acts. Madhavi Kuckreja of Sanatkada stated that she would want to work on developing a "Museum of Lucknow" to highlight its culture as well as a venue for performers.

"We should represent Lucknow's legacy in a secular manner without giving it a sectarian color so that people and visitors may understand and absorb the city's composite culture," remarked Nawab Mir Jafar Abdullah, who was also present at the event.

Puspesh Pant, a cuisine critic, chaired the panel discussion and official book launch for Urmila Singh's book "Bisre chulha, bisre swad." The book is a compendium of several Awadhi foods that are nutritious, simple to prepare, and long forgotten. Malini Awasthi's captivating musical performance marked the festival's triumphant end.

"These three days were amazing, and participants of all ages took part with enthusiasm. The reaction exceeded expectations by a wide margin. The KLF's creator, Prashant Singh, stated, "At first, we were skeptical, but after seeing the response from Lucknowites, we would try to organize it on a greater scale next year.
